Our Mission Statement

We own many of our own brands and distribute others on an exclusive basis for overseas principals. All our businesses operate autonomously, with Group Headquarters in Penkridge providing central support functions. Our mission is to fulfill dreams through our experience of motorcycles by providing to motorcyclists and action sports an expanding line of exclusive branded products and services in niche markets.

Karl Prestwood - Founder and CEO

KP Racing Services was founded in 2001 as a natural progression in Karl's long and successful career as a racer and team manager.

Karl began his racing career in 1979, competing in South African Motocross Championships. His natural talent shone through at an early stage, when he became the 80cc South African National Champion in 1983. His South African racing career continued through the 1980s, with championship wins and international appearances in 125cc & 250cc categories. Highlights of his South African racing were winning 4 national championships and being awarded his South African Springbok Colors for success in international competition.

The move to England in 1989 allowed Karl to compete in the UK 125cc & 250cc British racing scene, culminating in a racing seat at Yamaha in 1992 following an 8th place seeding in the 1991 grading list. An unfortunate accident in 1993 forced Karl to retire from racing, and to take up a full-time role as a Race Technician for Castrol Honda under Neil Tuxworth.

Karl's career as a Race Technician spanned more than two decades, working with Castrol Honda, Kawasaki (with the late Jan de Groot), Factory Husqvarna and Multitek Honda to win many grand prix podiums and national championship recognition.

Karl continues to develop new innovative products and race packages. He researches new components from around the globe, and combines them with his own custom-built parts to offer a unique race tuning service. It was an honour for Karl to be chosen by Leatt&trade to be the exclusive UK importer of their neck braces, and he is looking forward to expanding his business further in the future.

Nicola Prestwood - Office Manager

Nicola Prestwood (born Nicola Vale-Onslow) is the grand-daughter of the late Len Vale-Onslow MBE, manufacturer and retailer of motorcycle parts for over 90 years. Vale-Onslow Ltd have been successful motorcycle dealers since 1939.

Nicola is an experienced businesswoman, and runs the finances of KP Racing Services. She obtained an HNC in Business & Finance in 1997, and a BA in Business and Finance in 2001.

Following the acquisition of the import licence from Leatt&trade, Nicola now runs the KP Racing Services Dealership Distribution Hub.
